Houses for people with disability in NSW

 

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports people with a permanent and significant disability, which affects their ability to take part in everyday activities. Impact draws on its 15 years’ experience in OoHC to provide Supported Independent Living and other services to young adults in the Hunter and Western Sydney areas. Further expansion is planned for 2018.

 

We offer a range of service models, ranging from units to purpose modified houses and group homes with 24-hour support.

 

Services are provided to people living in specialised support models who require 24-hour assistance. More specifically, Impact runs specialised support models for people on the autism spectrum and people living with ongoing mental health issues.

Impact's pricing is based on the current NDIS Price Guide.

Service Objectives:

 

  • Provision of a service focused on individual need

  • Provision of a service focused on education, community support and expanding social networks

  • Ongoing development of a quality service through training

  • Promotion of the full participation of people we support in all aspects of service delivery and management

  • To maintain all accommodation in line with community standards

  • To maintain a system of quality assurance

  • To operate within the allocated resources

  • An educational and training approach tailored to each individual enabling them to reach their own level of independence.

We can work with you to find a solution that meets your needs.

The NDIS will use the following terms to describe the funding you can purchase for these services:

​

  • Assistance with daily life at home, in the community, in education and at work

  • Improved daily living skills

  • Improved living arrangements

  • Supported independent living

Shared Accommodation

 

Shared accommodation offers the opportunity for residents to live with other people and have the support they require while also developing their independence.

 

Impact is developing opportunities for shared living for the future. Please contact us to let us know your needs for shared living so we can help you plan for your future. In some situations, applicants may be required to be eligible to receive funding for specialist disability accommodation in their NDIS or Continuity of Support plan.

When you live in a residence managed by Impact you will:

Short Term Accommodation

 

Short Term Accommodation is for overnight stays or for longer periods of time and can be provided in planned blocks for regular breaks or holiday periods.

 

Short Term Accommodation can also be used if your usual carer has a medical emergency or is unavailable due to other commitments. Short Term accommodation can support your transition to permanent residency. Impact Lodge is a short-term accommodation option. Wheelchair accessible, comfortable and air-conditioned, Impact Lodge allows people with a disability to experience time away from home in a safe, engaging and supported environment that takes into account the usual routines of school or work, training, and programs.

 

In our Short Term Accommodation, we offer:

​

  • vehicle availability for transport

  • 24/7 staff support- experienced staff

  • the cottage offers long-term transition to permanent placement

  • life skills i.e. budgeting/banking, cooking skills

  • home like feeling

  • the cottage has Wi-Fi and Netflix

  • all rooms air-conditioned

  • close to transport and shops
